Services
My Approach
I offer individual psychotherapy for adults and adolescents, in which I balance listening carefully with asking questions and offering ideas, integrating psychodynamic psychotherapy that builds insight with techniques that are goal-oriented and strengths-focused. I engage a warm, empathic, and non-judgmental style, and I work collaboratively with my clients to help identify patterns holding them back from living their fullest and most meaningful lives. Together we identify ways of approaching these challenges with greater flexibility and self-awareness.

About
I am a licensed clinical psychologist serving patients in New York and Texas. I welcome patients with many different concerns, with a special emphasis on helping people across the stages of recovery, members of the LGBTQIA+ community, professional women and men, and people wanting to heal from historical trauma. In addition to my practice, I supervise doctoral students at The City College of New York.
Training & Experience
I completed my doctorate at The City University of New York, and I hold an undergraduate degree from Harvard College and a master’s degree from Cambridge University. During my doctoral training, I worked at a community mental health clinic at City College, the Trauma & Addiction Project at CCNY, the Brooklyn College counseling center, and at New York Presbyterian / Columbia University Irving Medical Center. My dissertation focused on how therapeutic relationships develops when therapists engage trauma-focused techniques with patients experiencing PTSD and addiction. I completed my doctoral internship at Bellevue Hospital in Manhattan, after which I spent several years as an addiction psychologist with the Veterans Health Administration in the Rio Grande Valley of Texas. I transitioned to private practice in 2020, and I am a proud member of an ongoing Modern Analytic Training Group.
FAQs
How do we get started?
I typically recommend starting with a brief phone conversation (at no cost) so that I may learn a little about you and so that you may ask me any initial questions. Next I suggest we begin with 1-3 consultation sessions so that we may explore your concerns in greater detail and get a sense of whether we have a good fit working together. Once we've completed the consultation, we'll meet at the same time each week for therapy.
How will we meet?
I offer sessions virtually and in-person from Midtown Manhattan and Dobbs Ferry in Westchester. For clients based in Texas, I offer in-person sessions on a semi-annual basis from Austin.
What is the fee?
New York: $300
Texas: $225
Do you accept insurance?
I am considered out-of-network for most insurance plans. If you can access out-of-network benefits, I can provide you with a monthly receipt which you can then submit for reimbursement. Once your deductible has been paid, your out-of-network benefits cover part of my fee. Depending on your plan, you may also be able to use benefits through a flexible medical spending account to cover psychotherapy expenses.

What is the cancellation policy?
I set aside dedicated time for each patient, so appointments canceled or missed within one business day will be charged in full.
Can I receive a good faith estimate?
In accordance with Section 2799B-6 of the Public Health Service Act, health care providers must give self-pay patients a good faith estimate of expected charges for items and services. Please review the official notice regarding this requirement.
